Evita Wiegers has been awarded the prestigious ERC Starting Grant!

With the ECLIPSE project, Evita Wiegers will develop innovative metabolic MRI approaches to better understand how lactate metabolism drives brain tumour growth.

While standard MRI provides detailed images of brain tumours, it reveals much less about the metabolic processes taking place inside them. ECLIPSE aims to shed light on how tumours produce, take up, use and remove lactate.

The project will provide new insights into the metabolic changes that take place before tumour growth becomes visible, potentially opening new opportunities for personalized care.
